How to clean black abrasive marks on the walls which immediately show up when some hard or metal surface touches / rubbed on the wall ? eg. frame marks, metal ladder leaning against the wall etc.

Repainting /touching up is one of the options but are there any product available in the market or some trick to remove these marks without affecting the paint?

It does remove some of the paint but also the marks as well. Never use the marker on a finished wood floor - it removes the finish.

I rub the spots with white toothpaste with a piece of white cloth, like an old white t-shirt. Magic Erasers do remove paint, the amount that comes off depends on the finish. They're really bad on flat paint, but I've never had the toothpaste remove any paint. Any toothpaste residue will come off with a damp cloth. Just be sure to use the tube of white paste, not a gel or color.

A magic eraser always works for me, and never takes off the paint, as long as the right kind of paint is on the wall. You have to be sure to keep it wet though; a dry magic eraser does nothing, but will fall apart and possibly take off paint.

Magic eraser takes off flat and satin paint and it ruins the shine on semi-gloss and gloss paints. You can't readily see it, but when the light hits just right, you can see a dull spot. If you need to wet the eraser to the point of not ruining the shine, you might as well use straight Mr. Clean and a cotton rag. The eraser itself does do damage---even damp.

I have used magic eraser on many occassions and it works wonders. We had our basement painted and the next day my kids decided to draw ALL over the newly painted walls. Needless to say I was furious. Magic eraser to the rescue! It got everything off and looked good as new!

Does the toothpaste have to be wet? and is it noticeable after it dries?
