We have a large room connected which fits two seperate purposes, one being a living room and the other end is meant to be a dining room (which we are going to use more as a kid area (crafts and such, since we are not a formal family and have a huge kitchen)
My question is how do you seperate the rooms colors? Would you recommend that? We have already painted the living room side a pretty BM gold (called Gold Finch). The rooms are connected, but have two colunms on halfway in the middle of the rm to have a semi-seperation.
Just not sure if I want that much gold in one space, but was not sure what I could do or what color would match?
Can you just do a lighter or darker tone of your Gold Finch (maybe a couple of shades away on the color chip) for the other area? I did this in hall to livingroom and it looks really great. Very subtle but a different feel as you go from one area to other.
I agree with Squirl. We have a dining room with columns that seperate the formal living room. I did a green in the dining room and then went one shade down on the color swatch. It looks great. Good luck!
you could paint the other one striped gold/beige. you can also use different floating carpets - that what I did for my greatroom (family+unused dining)
