Ok lets start off with the fact that I dont know much about car engines.
Money is not an issue.(At All)
I am looking for a good/reliable 4 cylinder engine to fit in a 95 honda accord.
Now I have heard that D series motors hold up well to boost, due to the good piston rings and seals but I was wondering about a vtec engine with a supercharger I am working on making my car into a show/decently quick(400-450 perferable HP or more) car.
So if you guys could help explain all the B, F, D(so on and so forth) series and vtec, non vtec, sohc, dohc, turbo, twin turbo, supercharger setup comparisons that would be very helpfull as I have done a little bit of research, but it takes forever to find every detail that I would like to know....
Or even at the least a site that would explain most or all of this would be helpfull too.
Unless your motor punched a hole through the side of the block, you are much further ahead to resize the crank, order oversize pistons and bore out the block.
yeah im a little mixed about everything but i figured i could just rice out my engine but its a sohc non vtec so........
so no 4-500 hp for you..
Whatever you do, it would start with a twin cam motor, and then have a turbo., ANd youd stil have abou half the HP you say you are looking for. And if you cant do it yourself, money better not be an object!
I am a honda fan and have had them for a longlong time, and now have a 96ex, but if you are looking for that kind of hp/speed, why not just look for another car?
go to a honda-specific tuner forum and read, that's a start (like Mr. Cat posted a link, and there are hundreds of places to read about VTEC engines)
there are better platforms than the Accord for modding, IMHO, but do what ya' like and good luck
