I need to buy a new washer and dryer. I've had good results with Kenmores in my rentals--would like to get a Kenmore for my new house. But I'm open to other brands.
Am only interested in the old-fashioned top loading washer and dryer. Any recs? Have been reading reviews for days and they're so mixed, it's unbelievable.
It can be any brand--just had good experience with Kemore.
I don't want a front loader b/c of all the problems with mold/mildew/leaving the door open, etc. I have animals and don't want to have to leave the door open in order to air out for mold/mildew.

Thanks!
I too prefer Kenmore. I like a top loader because I am always finding one more item to throw into a load. I do not need or want a lot of bells and whistles I'll never use. All I want is to be able to set the type of fabric, load size, and water temp.
I have also had good results with Maytag.
My suggestion would be to go to your nearest Sears outlet and see what is available.
I've seen what's available and I've read the reviews and they're all mixed. I'd like any recs of specific model numbers. I've never read such mixed reviews of any product!
They now have top loaders that have no agitator, use a lot less water and have the high spin speeds that reduce dryer time. We bought a GE and have been happy with it.
I "hear" some good recommendations of the Maytag Bravos MVWB850WQ but its expensive at around $700 and as for dryer, I hear Amana NED7300WW is also nice but it also costs around $700... for $1400 for them both... I am also in the market for a washer/dryer to and have been looking around... I hear the Samsung WF220ANW is also nice (front load washer)... wondering what everyone is thinking... haven't tried a Kenmore....

I bought a Mayag Centennial 3.5 top loader from Sears a couple of years ago. No bells and whistles (like you - I didn't want any bells and whistles). It's doing fine. Also bought an extended warranty from Sears (the warranties on new units are really short these days). Didn't need to buy a new dryer. My 16 year old Maytag is still going strong. Robyn
