I am doing a small electric project and I have two questions hope someone can help (in CT if that matters)

Can electric plastic and metal electric wire be connected in junction box?or it has to be metal to metal, plastic to plastic connection.

Does the junction box have to be metal if connecting electric plastic and metal electric wire? or plastic box also ok?

Thank you
