Options for workshop porch (alternatives, plank, concrete, plywood)

Hello,
I'm considering adding a small covered porch to my home workshop and am looking for some input on various options. I'm thinking probably only about 8'x8', just to give me a little space to do some of the messier work and to have some extra room. Originally I was thinking about just a small wooden porch, maybe composite deck planks or plywood, but I think I'd prefer something that will be more stable and durable for welding or when I really need to pound the crap out of stuff. Concrete would be ideal but seems like a big hassle, and really isn't that cheap if I have someone else pour it. Thinking maybe just brick or pavestones of some sort with a sand and gravel base. I could probably find a bunch of bricks cheap or free on Craigslist or something. I've put in a large patio this way so I'm familiar with how to do it, but wondering if there might be any other good (meaning cheap and easy) alternatives. If I could find some large concrete blocks, like sections of side walks or something that would be great, but pretty heavy and no idea where I would get something like that. I'd appreciate any input. Make it 10' x 8' x 4" ....yard of concrete and be done with it....

Yeah, that would be ideal, but the location doesn't allow for a truck to get in there, so either I"d be mixing it myself (which is a lot of bags of concrete) or I'd be paying extra to have it mixed on site or transported in to the backyard. Maybe I can find somebody looking for a little side work that has some experience with this and will work cheap.
