Many of the new neighborhoods in Houston being built way out in the burbs are built on old ranch land and rice patties. There were no trees. In fact, millions of trees are being planted where there were no trees before. So each house ends up with one or two small trees in front. Usually none in the backyard.
If you want huge established trees, you either build way up north, or buy into older established neighborhoods closer to town.

I too am from the east coast and you'd have to move to The Woodlands north of Houston to get anything resembling the east coast look.

I still don't get it. From the picture and description it looks like the front and the outfacing sides of the main columns are stone and the sides that face each other and maybe back are brick. From the angle the picture is taken seeing that one brick surface is odd. Is that for real?
What is the finish going to be on the two smaller columns?

Exactly my question. OP, why stone, brick, & vinyl?

He did not ask, but I felt generous and gave my 2 cents anyway. He can use or ignore. I'm just sharing my opinion that it looks funny and out of place. Others seem to agree. But it's his (her?) house, and as long as he (she?) is happy, that's all that ultimately matters. That's all.

Carry on.

Some of us were brought up to say something nice or nothing at all. Others have no filter and let it fly.

It would be one thing if the OP was showing plans, but they are showing their home already well under construction. You can imagine the cost to make a change now. The only thing being accomplished by your "generosity" is possibly putting a dark cloud over what should be a fun time for the OP. The OP seems to have a thick skin but all the unsolicited negative comments are uncalled for and disrespectful. Would you walk up to a complete stranger and comment on their house negatively?

That's MY 2 cents.

You can see the edge of the brick on the left column.

Lol no I saw that. I just thought he meant they were covering the brick fascia with block fascia. It's just weird to use that many exterior fascias and then they are so opposite to each other

If they asked for my opinion sure. I'm not gonna lie to them. Nobody is trying to put OP down. It's simply observations. Many if the posters have been in the construction industry for a long time.

And ultimately when they go to sell the house the next buyer is going to see the wide ranging differences too

Exactly, but in this case they didn't ask for anyone's opinion.
All the opinions on the chosen materials were unsolicited.
And it's a typical Texas cookie cutter McMansion. Stone and brick facade and some use partial/full siding on the side/back for cost savings. Nothing surprising or abnormal here. All the homeowner can do is choose colors and styles. Material choices are limited, especially at lower price points.

How much did you pay for this. It really looks odd with all the differents color and finishes. The different color mortar makes it look like the house was underwater. That brown siding looks like something from a trailer park and really doesn't go with a high end house. See if they will change it while you are at it.

ok, here is a home with the same elevation but with a different color scheme. Also attached is the color scheme I chose. Are these that odd? Just asking. Yes I am thick skinned and I don't mind hearing opinions. My big thing is I have a meeting with the builder and I will push for tearing down and redo as I don't want to deal with the repointing issues later.

You're posting on a forum board. Wait did you think was gonna happen? By posting you are going to get other people's views. I've seen Texas houses. Most have one type of fascia. Usually block or brick being the most prevalent.
