Yesterday I was getting ready to leave the house and I heard a buzzing sound. I searched and searched for it. I checked everywhere. Even went outside to see if the sound was coming for there. I shut the HVAC system off but no luck. The buzzing continued.

Well I traced it down to the master bathroom and after listening and poking around, I found the source in a vanity draw. I have a battery powered hair/beard trimmer and evidently something in the same draw as the trimmer had shifted/moved and it turned the trimmer on.

Be concerned if you start hearing "shave and a haircut, two bits."

IF it is a funny sound, let it be. Laughter is good for your health.

That stuff drives me a bit crazy. It's usually a hum or the sound of trickling water. That one is either the toilet or the refrigerator.

I don't have an attic, and often hear vultures landing/walking on my roof. It almost sounds as though a person is on the roof stomping around. Especially at night, when the house is quiet and I try to fall asleep. Should I be concerned? lol

We have owls in the trees outside the bedroom window at night, but I don't give a hoot.

The other day I was hearing a sound like a really big cockroach in my kitchen wall. It turned out that I needed to replace the GFCI outlet. I'd never had one make noise before.

Wait until you live in a really old, quiet house.

Nothing like sitting in the dark, unable to sleep, listening to the deathwatch beetles. Not sure if they're more disturbing when you don't know what they are, or when you do.
