I have a glass stove top (all flat, no knobs, touch panel for turning on and off/settings, etc.) and if I put anything on the area where you set the stove on/off, heat, etc. it drives me crazy with low key beeps that can seem irregular in spacing for some reason I cannot figure out. There is no flashing light to indicate what the problem is but even a piece of paper will set it off (even though the flat digital 'buttons' are hard to make work when you want it to) and it will go off if something overlaps that entire side of the cooktop by as much as a millimeter. The markings on the glass are red and don't stand out well from the black glass so sometimes you don't realize even where the line is that you must not cross.
When I hear beeps out of the blue that is very first thing I look at these days.
Any chance you have one of those too?
whoa. i actually do. but i am not really understanding what could be causing it. i do keep cookware (pots and pans) on the glass top when not in use...
We had a beep coming out of the basement about every 10 minutes, for weeks. Turned out to be a Verizon box next to the breaker panels, left over from the previous owner (we just moved in a few months ago). Unplugged the thing and the noise stopped.
We used to have that - it wasn't on any particular schedule that I noticed.
Eventually it stopped. I never was able to narrow it down even to a room, because it would do the beeps 3x fast and then who knows when it will go again - never enough time to find it.
Speaking of time though, time gets all batteries eventually. (Although I had a small wall clock with a double-A in it that lasted 20+ years..)
Check your thermostat. if you have the digital readout with a backlight those run on batteries (9v I think). If it's not too low you can push any button & it will say "low battery" in teeny tiny letters.
The battery is dead in the backup module. There is a blue alarm silence button on the box. Press and hold it down for about ten seconds it will reset the system for a week or so before you have to do it again. The battery is easy to replace. Call Verizon they can come out and replace it or send you a new one.
Tooth brush, razor, in our case it was a faulty relay in the dishwasher.
