Wow, 2000 bucks for a fridge to put in the garage? I see Lowe's has several standard fridges for around $500. That's what I'd do, or get a used one off Craigslist.
Commercial fridges are not meant for homes unless you buy specific models that has been customized for home such as ones made by Viking.
Since most of these are noisy, exhaust a lot of heat, and very deep and not ideal for home kitchens. I wouldn't buy them since they are designed for space but not flexibility. I rather have modern fridge that have multiple smart drawers and compartments for different produces.
I have also kicked around this idea. You might be able to get a used one from a restaurant sale/closure. I like the idea of a simple reach in frig. The racks are perfect and not fancy. Easy to clean. A lot more storage space without all the drawers. I would love to get one of each for my garage-a reach in refrigerator and also a reach in freezer. They make smaller ones. Great to store everything. Plus they're on wheels so you can move them around easy for cleaning.
It's a garage--make it what you want to use it for.
The only problem would be if the garage gets cold. The way refrigerators (and freezers) work means they don't work well in cold weather. If the garage is attached to the house and it doesn't freeze out there, you should be fine.
I'm keeping the contact information for a company that can deliver a commercial freezer quickly. Many of the appliance places are out of freezers and the wait time to order one is long. I worry about having one of my freezers clonk out and not being able to get a replacement. If that happens, it doesn't matter how much it costs to get a replacement in 24 hours. ... and the commercial freezers are expensive.
Garage never gets below 45 in the winter so luckily that’s not a problem.

If you can find a $500 fridge that has the same capacity let me know.
IMHO how the refrigerated space happens to be configured doesn't matter much. You'll still fill it up and want more. $2K just to have more cold drinks on hand at any particular moment? Pass. I'd rather have more flexible garage space.
Obviously more than just cold drinks. I have a large 3 car garage so space isn’t an issue.

That was my thought. I found one with a residential warranty so will likely pull the trigger. Couldn’t find any good ones used on CL or elsewhere.
Yup, large appliances are rare, due to COVID, they say.
Washers
Dryers
Refrigerators
Ovens
Dish washers
Freezers
Trash compactors
Stoves
Home furnaces
Air conditioners
Stores may sell them, but actually getting the unit may take months....

Two $500 fridges, brand new from Lowe's, is still half the price, and almost certainly more internal capacity than your $2000 garage fridge.
Most people I know who have a second fridge in the garage, barn, or basement, have one of those 60 year old rounded Frigidaires or something like that (typ. cost $100 or so). But if you feel like burning money, go ahead.
