With the trimmer I move at a fast walk. I wear long pants and eye protection. Takes less than 30 minutes for the entire yard. Looks sharp.
Beautiful!

Never do in my area. Not even 10" total last summer from June to Sept. With a west flow anyone living 1 mile or less from the gulf gets no rain while 2 to 20 miles inland gets 5 times the rain.

I edge my yard and I do love the look of it. But dealing with my edge trimmer/weed eater sometimes drives me insane. All these years later I still have not mastered how to wind up the line. It always seems to get stuck about 6 times out of ten which ends up frustrating me and sometimes makes me not want to bother to do that final step of making the yard look pristine.

Dh edges the yard a few times a year. We have a poured curb around the front beds, so it’s fairly easy to edge around them, the sidewalks and the driveway.it looks nice.

When I worked in landscape (looong ago), we would do edge establishment or "remediation" with a stick edger, and then if the customer was on a regular schedule, maintain the edge with a string trimmer. Both were upcharges from the standard mow, trim, blow service, but not very expensive and the results were great.

Thing is, a lot of people are cheap.

I have been helping out a buddy and most of his customers don't have it done. But then I am in a semi-rural area with few sidewalks or concrete drives and walkways. Mostly asphalt, slate, pavers, and stone, none of which take well to edging.

how do you like your Ego stuff?

I have one of their handheld blowers (the 650 CFM) and I am thinking of getting a hedge clipper and maybe even the multi-attachment powerhead with a few attachments liek the trimmer and edger.
