For something that small and straightforward I'd go to my local landfill or transfer station and check out the construction debris area for a piece of foam board. Maybe worth asking a hardware store if they have any remnant leftovers from a customer order. Re-use/re-purpose and no propellants or aerosol cans ending up in a landfill.
If you want to use foam in a can, I would use the white DAP foam made for use around electric outlets. It stays soft and flexible and does not expand massively like the other types of canned foam. the other kids (most of them) get hard and brittle and will break apart if the lid is opened and closed with any frequency.
