Yeah, it ain't weird or radical to me either, just I would not waste good diamond plate putting it on the floor. Probably not that cheap either. We have no clue as to thickness or grade. I blew up that pic, could not see any seams. No means of fastening it down. Somebody did a lot of effort to get it in there.
Shame is the dude might move, can't take all that diamond plate with him. Lots of other projects it could be better suited for. He could have just shipped it to me, if he had that much to spare.
I'm betting he did not have to buy it. Some type of five finger discount at work, had more diamond plate than brains.
