We are closing on a house in Blackhorse Ranch next month and want to find a good rate for Homeowner's insurance. Can anyone give me a good company to get coverage from? THANKS!

I'll give you the same advice I was given as I was looking about 2 months ago: shop around!!

I called 5 different insurance companies and honestly got quotes between $950 and $2400 for nearly identical coverage. We just purchased our house (built in 2006) for $210,000.

I ended up with Liberty Mutual, but haven't had any claims so I can't comment on anything other than the price of the policy itself. Also be aware that some companies will often have a higher deductible for hurricane damage (often 2x to 3x higher than your normal deductible).

AAA Texas has great rates for home and auto.
We switched to them from Liberty Mutual.
