Hi All,

We are moving to Houston soon and need suggestions on apartments / area where we should live? Here are some details :-

1. I will work near Bush International airport ( I think it is north houston) whereas my wife will study in TSU or St. Thomas ( Houston downtown).

2. We have 3 year old daughter and would prefer area / apartments which is kids frendly. Also she might start her school soon.

3. How is commuting in the evening between my work and downtown?

4. We are south Asian (Indians) and prefer place with diverse culture.

Thanks,

your best bet would be to contact an apartment locater. look up the apartment ratings on apartmentratings.com but don't believe all of them. some things were said about my current apartment that i had doubts about, but i moved into them anyway and was very glad i did. i love it.

Yeah, I got my apartment with the help of an apartment locater. [10 post to link off site]

You don't need to pay them. Just tell them your requirements and they will provide options to you. I understand from my locater that they get paid from some housing association. Don't know if this is correct but they do have neutral stands here.

hi,
I am a girl from China and I got a job in houston. So I just moved here from Missouri State to Houston, I am currently living in a apartment community. I am living in a two bedroom apartment with my roommate and it is furnitured, $800 per month for two of us. I signed one-year contract, so I got discount and my roommate and I in total just need to pay $400 for the first month. The location is great, it is close to the main street of houston--westheimer. It is also close to the supermarket, stores and some companies. The people living in this community are very nice and help each other. If you need more information, you can [mod edit - phone #] DM me
