Hello,
I have an idea about maybe buying my apartment from the landlord that ownes it. its in Montrose 2-4 blocks from Menil Museaum and Rothko Chapel and Greek Church. In between Westheimer and Alabama. It is a structure divided into 7 apartments. Each has its own patio on first floor not facing the street. 630ish sq.ft. two stories. i kept it well since i started to rent it. Looks way nicer since i've been there since I fixed little things here and there. I was told by other landlords that their 'something' at the year end when taxes are done, their property was valued around 26,000 - 37,000 each unit.. I think its called 'Apraisal'?

I am thinking about buying it. It is in a nice location, Rail could soon be close, close to bars and restaurants, nice houses around the property, my utility bill i only pay (electricity) is low low; 40 dollars fall/winter and 60-80 dollars summer. Not much repairs or upgrades are needed.

What should I be expecting in such things as setting a price, taxes if i get to own it, maintanace of complex since i gues i have to pitch in. I was thinking of renting it to another person for a little higher rent than what i am paying for now but well justified after the small upgrades i will do soon.
