Hi all,

I was wondering what the steps were for moving into a new apartment and switching over the utilities (electricity/energy) to my name. I know I need to choose a power company but then I am slightly lost. Once I have registered with the new company and told them my move in date ect. do I need to do anything else? Centerpoint reads the meters I believe(?), do I have to let them know of any changes??

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Each energy company has it own sets of rules. They vary slightly, but the basic procedure once you choose a energy provider, is to pay your deposit and you're all set.

If you require a deposit!!! You may not!!!!!

Once you have set up service you are done. You do not have to be there for service to start on the date you set up. Centerpoint will be notified by the company you choose. You do not hacve to contact them for your electricit readings.
