I am not sure about commercials overlapping, I haven't had that happen, and I Tivo everything and just fast forward through the commercials. I will say that they do have this one annoying commercial that they have been playing for two years now about a quote from Benjamin Franklin having to do with the government and economy and it has a flag flying in the background. The annoying thing is that the volume on the commercial is extremely loud and annoying.

The only other thing is I wish I could pay my bill online; they won’t let you do that if it’s for a residence… But you can pay by phone, which I do every month.

Their customer service is pretty good too. Which is one of the main reasons I left AT&T, that and their internet sucked... you shouldn't have to reboot your router once a week.

Energy Corridor has Phonoscope I believe, at least the company i worked for was phonoscope and comcast backup

i'm in downtown and AT&T is for this building, but that doesn't mean Phonoscope didn't run the Fiber optics.

Do you live in an apartment? How is the Phonoscope Internet? Do they charge a fee for paying over the phone? (When I lived in NC and paid the gas bill over the phone they would charge a 2.95 fee everytime, really annnoying.)

Thanks!

Internet is great, never had a problem with it. Every once and awhile when watching streaming videos through Netflix, it will go from HD quality down to regular quality, other than that it is fine. CAT cable connections were already in my wall, so you don't even need a modem unless you want wireless, which I have.

No, they don’t charge a fee to pay over the phone.

During IKE I had cable and internet, lol.

Thanks for the info! Maybe it is going to work out well after all. I was worried for a bit while nobody was replying and it was difficult to find reviews.

I stream Netflix and Hulu through my Xbox, as well as play games on Xbox live - and also stream a lot of movies and TV shows on my computer. So good Internet is a must.

Thanks again!

When I lived in an apartment complex, I had the same situation and the front office also told me that all I could get is phonoscope, no comcast or at&t. Either way, being an IT person...I wasn't pleased with phonoscope only due to the lack of speed...I'm not sure how it is now but for resident, the speed was comparable to maybe Elite DSL package from AT&T, not Uverse...so roughly 6 Mbps download. I need and wanted faster but that's my only gripe. It was overall pretty reliable but did have the occasional dropout.

Yes, I am going to see if there is a way I can add Internet through them for a month. Sort of a trial run - before I sign any long term contracts. Don't know if that is possible but it never hurts to ask.

My leasing agent told me that Comcast does not have the area, but our family friends who live across the street in Royal Oaks use Comcast. While some people seem to think Comcast is a rip off and overpriced, I use them currently, here in MN, and have had very enjoyable experiences with them regarding both Cable and Internet. If they are unable to service my apartment, and Phonoscope doesn't cut it for me, well I will have to search for other alternatives.

Same for me with Comcast...that's what I use now and will continue to use and I really never had any issues with them. I used Phonoscope for awhile and eventually there was another company called Consolidated Communication. It was a little faster but it was more pricey.

Thanks for all your posts!
You cant' get better ISP in Houston. Phonoscope is all fiber optic and high speed.

Phonoscope is a great company. They have been in business for over 60 years. Not too many people know about them since they are better know in the commercial service circle. I am sure with the years they will continue to expand more and more to residential.
