We just moved here from Sugar Land last week. My daughter is currently enrolled in the Woodlands Youngs Learners Academy. I am wondering if any one has any opinions of this school. Had children that went here etc.

We had her in a montessori that we loved in Sugarland and I just got notice from the Woodlands Montessori here that they can get her in. I am debating if I shoud switch her.

I would like opinions on both schools if anyone has them

Sorry, can't help you there but if you don't mind sharing the approximate cost for pre-schools. We are moving to Houston in a week and thinking about enrolling my kids (triplets,4 years old) in pre-school just not sure what kind of expense that might involve.

I have tried to get that information from the pre-schools website, nothing on the actual tuition, general info only.

Thanks.

I don't know much about the WLYA, but I know that 2 kids from my children's daycare recently left and now take their kids there. One child also left 2 years ago and still attends, so I am assuming it's a good school. I'd check it out, but it is not convenient for us.

preschools here seem to run 200-300 per month for 2 days a week. Pretty pricey and the class sizes are much larger than I'm used to. We're in Spring and my son's preschool is $205/month for Tues/Thurs. I can't remember how many kids there are, I looked at so many before I settled on this one. I think it's 12 kids in the class with one teacher and one assistant for every two classes. I think another preschool we looked at (it was a church preschool) was $235 for the same number of kids without the assistant. Also, the facilities were old...everything was faded and dirty-looking (probably not really dirty, just dingy). Where we are now has a beautiful facility and my son LOVES the school. It's Cypress Creek Christian Preschool on Cypresswood.

We pay 1000 per month for full-time Montessori preK plus after school care. I believe standard 8:30-3:30 classes are 650 a month.

Frankly, we tried for years to find a decent preschool in The Woodlands and were not entirely satisfied with any we tried. Most were glorified daycare centers. We never did try The Methodist one that gets really good reviews. We looked at it but it seemed too religious for us.

You should also look at Young Einsteins which is very near the Woodlands. Great curriculum with certified teachers and small class ratios. Young Einsteins Math and Science Academy | SPRING, TX 77386 281-288-3900

Came across this post and was curious if anyone had any opinions/insight into either of these two preschools: The Woodlands Young Learners (TWYLA) and/or Montessori Unlimited. Think I've narrowed my choice between these two and would love any insight. I'm not very familiar with the Montessori based teachings, but liked the diversity and mixed aged classes. Can't get into either until next year, so probably will do part-time at Interfaith until then. I'm not keen on the 2 hour nap period, but seems to be a State requirement, so may just use either school for their morning program (I'm aware of the costs).

Thanks in advance.
