Are there excellent private schools in Clear Lake areas ? If you know one, please recommend. I have heard the name South Lutheran mentioned .

Anything at the caliber of Kincaid or St John and the likes in to the Clear Lake area?

No - nothing of the caliber of St. John or Kincaid on this side of town. I would send my kid to Clear Creek ISD just as soon as Lutheran South - I had one kid go to Lutheran South and one to public school. The kid in public school got the better education. Just my opinion though.

I concur. The advantage of Lutheran is that there is more one-on-one attention to the children, and because of its small size the children can participate in nearly any extracurricular activity that is offered. In CCISD the students have broader academic and extracurricular opportunities, but face much greater competition in getting into clubs, teams, etc. Academically, CCISD offers much more, but unless your child either excels or falls far behind, they can get lost and ignored among the masses.

I had kids in CCISD, HISD, Lutheran, and Catholic schools. Each had advantages and disadvantages, - but unless your child does better with more one on one attention, wants to participate in a variety of sports and clubs without the pressures having to compete against future major-leaguers, or you have a strong religious preference - I recommend sticking with CCISD.

No - you have to go into Houston if you want those superior types. CCISD has always had great schools so privates haven't been a big draw for the area.
