My wife and I are looking to get a new bedroom set. We have looked at the usual places, Gallery, Star, Ashley, Rooms to Go, The Room Store, and I stumbled across Katy Furniture today. Stopped in and checked out what they had. Furniture seemed to be of pretty high quality, i.e. solid wood, etc. Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with them?

I have not been there. I will have to look, Tista's is really great. Quality and they can order anything. I love working with them.

I just wanted to make sure it was the same place.

We purchased a dinette set (The Dorothy) and a bedroom set (The Bryce) from them in November. They let you know whether its in stock or not right then and there. My husband had to build the chairs and table, but they look great and are solid and sturdy. The bedroom set, for the money, has been really nice. It's certainly not Drexel Heritage by any means, but for our purpose, it's perfect. It took me five trips, but I got all of the furniture home in our Honda Pilot.

I've been very happy with them, and would buy from then again in the future.

I went into Katy furniture a few months ago and had the worst experience of my life. The place is so small, and it literally looks like a warehouse. The stuff may be cheap but it's of really bad quality. I guess you get what you paid for. I purchased a bedroom set & it started falling apart within the 1st week of us having it. My husband & I aren't big people & we dont have any kids. We tried to tell the owner, who was very rude, and he was not willing to help us at all. We had to live with the worst furniture for 3 months, and finally just purchased something else from another store. Never trust stores that look cheap, because you definitely get what you paid for. My husband & I have sworn to never shop there again! I will never recommend this store to anyone! Stay far away!

It looks like a warehouse because it is a warehouse being used as a showroom. Basically they are like any other small furniture stores - they all buy from the same furniture manufacturers like crownmark. They advertise a lot on craigslist.

I actually found them through craigslist when I was looking for a leather living room set. What I didn't like is that they charge a little more if you don't pay in cash (not sure if this is still the case), and they advertised a lot as items as leather, when in fact it is bicast last (blend of leather and other materials).

I ended up finding another store that bought their items from the same manufactures as katy furniture, but spent less.
