Really nice Seiko (got one last Christmas from hubby)
Really nice Citizen (had one for years - LOVED it)
A Raymond Weil (got one last Christmas from hubby - yes I got 2 watches. The Seiko is my every day nice watch, and the Raymond Weil is for going out/evening wear).

I believe he got the watches at Jareds.

Watches are personal things. Like the post above mine...I don't care for Movado watches. I like to have each hour identified in some fashion (my Raymond Weil one has diamons, the Seiko has dashes). I like at least the date on my watch. You said stainless steel. Does she like only a silver look, or a little gold mixed in? Would she prefer a dark face or a light/white one?

I have gotten my husband quite a few watches over the years, as they are like his jewelry. But I know his taste after being with him for 17 years. And usually he picks out several that he likes, or talks about a particular one for a long time before I buy it.

+1. Can't go wrong with a Movado. Always stylish.

If we're talking about girlfriend and not wife I'd give Harwin a look.
