I've lived near downtown for about 2 years now and in that short amount of time I have witnessed more than 8 non-profit Homeless shelters erect in or around my area. I predict that given the ever-growing presence of non-profit homeless shelters in Houston, coupled with the ease of travel provided by Greyhound Buses, we will begin to see a mass migration of homeless people into the city center - further hampering the building, developement, and growth of our downtown entertainment district.

The greyhound station and those homeless people were there long before any midtown development - people who moved or move into that area should check it out first and determine whether they can or can't live with it.

By 2040, Houston will be a toxic wasteland. There'll still be people living here and working (of course, since work is all that matters in life to some), but people will wear suits and breathing appratati whenever they go outside of their homes or jobs. Something to look forward to (wink)...
