But it will rarely stay that way. The average highs are in the 80s and the lows are in the 60s throughout the Summer. You will have a heat wave or two in Chicago like every place in North America. Yet turn around and have temps in the 70s or 80s with lows in the 60s.

Chicago and the Midwest can get humid though. Houston humid at that. Dallas is drier than the Midwest.

The past 2 winters have been very irregular in Houston, colder than usual. Then again, it changes year-to-year.

I live here more than 30 years and still trying to figure out how the weathermen determine "normal temperature" when it's seldom normal year after year...

I do like the winter in Houston. That is one of the few things I do complain about. Has anybody had to cut on the heat yet this year?

Yesterday, one of the weatherman said that "It's going to be cold the next few days"

I was scratching my head thinking.... aren't those pretty much the average temperature for this week?

OMG that is so funny, we moved here from Chicago and are loving this weather. When it is 50 in Chicago people bring out their shorts. We were going somewhere and it was 55 and he wanted to wear long shorts and a sweatshirt so I let him and people were walking around with coats and gloves LOL.

Yeah, that's Texans for ya. I'm never really able to truly enjoy the chilly weather, because everyone else is acting so miserable. 90% of the year, temps are 75 or higher, but let the hawk come out for a few days and they act like it's the end of the world.

When it's 55 degrees, I never have on more than a light sweatshirt or jacket, and even then I can get a little too warm if there's plenty of sunshine and no wind.
