We are considering a move to the Houston area. Either North or West. Can anyone tell me an area we could find a rural area for horse property? Thanks

There are a number of small ranches for horses, frequently cutting horses, out around Fulsher to the West. Up North, there are horse ranches as well certainly west of the woodlands but I now that area less than west.

Many, many horse ranches out West: Check out Brookshire, Pattison, Raccoon Bend, Cat Spring, Sealy, Bellville, Wallis, Simonton etc

I saw some beautiful small horse properties in Cypress yesterday. Are you looking for small acreage (1 or 2 horses) or do you want a whole herd :-) There are lots of options around Houston.

Depends how far out you want. Crockett Tx seems to lend itself to horses. Good for hay growth and not as rocky as things out west. There are a few horse farms there already. It puts you at about 1:45 outside of Houston though. But really anything between Huntsville and Crockett (along Hwy 19) would work.

Cypress, Tomball. Magnolia, Brookshire and Fulshear are a few to look into.

The only rural land I can think of that would stay rural is actually out east over the Trinity river but if your ok with quicky being surrounded by new subdivisions (within 10 years basically), anything west of Katy
