It wasn't until we visited a friend in Sugar Land that we were recommended a contractor that does business via word-of-mouth, no advertising.
Aren't shutters supposed to be on the outside of the house? They definitely aren't going to protect your windows the way you have them.

decorative shutters go on the inside.....if a category 5 hurricane is imminent, you dash outside in your underwear, and put two little pieces of masking tape in the shape of an 'X' on the glass. That is what protects the windows. dummy.

For those of you who are interested, here is the contact info for the work done on our plantation shutters installed to our home.

Her name is Lynn and she can be reached here:

Express Blinds & Shutters
Phone: (281) 812-7287
Email: lien1548@yahoo.com

Took about 6 weeks from start to finish for the shutters to be made. They are made of 100% wood, and they paint match to your specifications. Great lady and was easy to work with. Her team will come out to your home and install them in a couple hours...we had 23 windows installed in this amount of time.

Window Fashions of Texas did my Hunter Duet Cell shades. At the time Hunter Douglas had a $25 rebate per window and they were also eligible for the Energy Efficiency tax credit. 13 windows for under $4k

Did the same thing. Very economical.

We speng $1k for 20 windows. We bought 2 1/2" faux wood blinds from Home Depot and put them up ourselves. It's VERY easy to do and you can save a lot of money doing it yourself, UNLESS, you have two story windows. In that case, you may pay a bit to get floor to ceiling drapes (I wouldn't put blinds at the top) but to each their own.
