OK, I'm starting to get incredibly annoyed by the number of posts that mention how hot and humid it gets in Houston. I've been tracking Houston's weather for 5 years. My mother moved down there in 2007. I work in finance so I'm pretty good with numbers and looking at normal distributions curves as well as statistical outliers.

There is a lot of gross misrepresentation on here concerning the actual heat and the duration of that heat over the course of a year. For the most part, Houston is not boiling April to November. From July to Sept the high low range is usually 75 to 95 within 2 standard deviations. May and June I would say are 72 to 85 and Oct and Nov are 72 to 85. Dec through Feb maybe 50 to 65 and March to May maybe 70 to 85. I know the 80's can feel like boiling especially coming after 3 months of high 90's, but the fact of the matter is, 95% of the people in this country would describe 85 to 88 as very decent weather at the highs with mid to high 70's at night. And the winters are absolutely gorgeous.

I'm just getting really sick of the gross exaggerations of the heat.

BTW, here is the next 7 days weather forecast.

Basing Houston weather on this week is just as grossly misleading as basing it on last summer. We are in the middle of a highly unusual cool weather run brought on by a lot of rain. The average high temperature for this time of year is 94 degrees.

It's the high dew points that make it unbearable.

Are you in Houston? Two weeks ago we were in the high 90s feels like in the 100s. The past two weeks have been unusually cool and wet. But yeah 95% of Americans would love to have the kind of summers we have here. Just read all the posts from people who are leaving houston and their comments about the heat. I personally don't mind it, but to say it doesn't exist is dumb

When this front passes itll be in the 100s again

Houston has about 100 days every year above or equal to 90 degrees. That makes this place dang hot. And when it's 80 something like today but the humidity is above 80%, it still feels uncomfortable.

Add in the UV index which is only normal about 4 months of the year: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/product...les/hou_11.png

Still, like the others mentioned, it is unseasonably cool in Houston now.

No, I'm in Chicago where we had 5 straight days of temps over 100!!!!!!!

Yes, I get it, it's a cool spell. That happens. It's called weather.

But the data does not lie. I have 50 years of data if you want it. Of course, maybe you are one of those people that have trouble with facts. I mean there are people that don't believe we landed on the moon.

I'm not debating that it's hot in the deep south in July and August. Thanks. But this idea that it's boiling hot in Houston in November and March and April is just absurd. Houston is hot when 95% of the rest of the country is also hot. It's called summer.

I grew up in St. Louis, far from the deep south. But July and August our highs were more often then not in the high 80's and 90's.

Dude really? Your basing your analysis on a chart of "averages?" Those are never right (for any state).

I love the hot weather but you have to look at actual temperatures combined with the heat index. Your mom lives here - do you? This site has "averages" but also shows the actual.

Well I'm sure you will have some people b*tching about how cold it is now. Of course what I find funny is when I come down to Houston in December and everyone is crying because it's 50 outside and they think it's too cold to do anything. Maybe people in Houston just like to b*tch. I don't know.
