Houston among most dangerous? Coming from DC and have been to other large cities like LA, NYC, etc, not even the "bad" neighborhoods in Houston make me nervous. Sure, I watch my six wherever I go, but that's for anywhere you go.

You should try driving through southeast DC 'hoods near the Maryland border, then you'll see how overblown this article is. No, actually, don't even risk venturing into southeast DC... just take my word for it. Really.

Sugarland also has the ugliest commute. I would rather take a bit of risk than to endure the fugly depressing commute, uber strict traffic police among other things

Do you think Dallas will be bragging that their only the 371st least safe city as compared to 377th for Houston ? Fort Worth and San Antonio will be bragging too that there are only around 300 cities in the US safer than they are ? The differences in these cities crime rates is for the most part imperceptible and could easily be skewed by just a few neighborhoods or even incidence here and there.

P.S. Kudos to SugarLand

Sounds like you need to spend more time focusing on the road and less on the billboards.

Dumb question .... what is a city?
With the definition used here, I bet Panorama Village (golf course community) is the safest city in America.
