Coming down to Houston (and Austin) next weekend to take photos of the city. I will be getting ground shots (day and night) as well as helicopter photos.

At this point I'm just hoping for some good weather. It's hard to tell from 1500 miles away, but how does the landscape look there? The midwest looked terrible all summer with the heat and drought so I'm hoping Houston is better.

Thanks for any help!

This year Houston has gotten more rain than average
and we had a lot of cloudy/rainy days during the summer.

Very green. Go to Montrose to a dive bar and you can smell it in the air.

Green, but not as green as places most places to the east such as TN, NC, GA or FL. Actually it's a striking difference if you're looking down from way above.

However it should be greener than Austin... but Austin can be equally as green if not moreso, with properly timed rain throughout the seasons. Not sure how it is this year. Austin is in a climatic crossroad.

No need to go that far. Just drive up through East Texas. All of those states do have places that are just as and even less green than Houston, in case anyone was unaware.
