if you are working in Greenway Plaza, I think you would be better to look at houses in Sugar Land, The driving on 59 is better. and it has good school district.

True, I would hate to be limited to taking the Westpark Tollway to the work location; only two lanes each way, almost always a traffic jam at rush hour, and you have to pay tolls. Better to live where you also have Hwy 59 as an option.

Why do you feel it has gone downhill? Is there a problem with Mcneill, Wertheimer, or Foster?

I ask bc I moved to Lakemont in January, and so far have been very happy with the area.

As a quirky side note, I don't know why developers put "mission" in the title of their subdivision. Many of the areas that have "mission" in their title seem to end up being less desirable. Maybe the name just has a negative connotation.

@ BayouBengal1982 - There is nothing wrong with any of those 3 schools; Foster is probably the best high school in LCISD and pulls from mostly highly affluent neighborhoods and areas, but Beachbunny doesn't like the Lakemont subdivision itself as much.

To the OP, if you want to stay with Foster HS but avoid the Lakemont subdivision, check out Lakes of Bella Terra off of Grand Parkway and Westpark Tollway- homes from $170k to $1million+ with an exemplary elementary school in the neighborhood that just opened.

I would also suggest Greatwood off of US-59 just outside of Sugar Land (it's actually Sugar Land ETJ, for what its worth), zoned to Dickinson/Campbell Elementary schools (great recognized/exemplary schools) and George Ranch HS (the other top HS in the LCISD district). Parents in Greatwood/Bridlewood have actually taken their kids out of private schools and re-enrolled them into LCISD once George Ranch HS opened.

$225k will put you into some of the older homes in Greatwood, but that area as a whole is a prime location and you get plenty of house for your $.

We used to live in Grand Mission. Our daughter was in the Childrens Lighthouse daycare there and we were very pleased with it the whole time, however we did feel that the neighborhood was going down hill a little. There was a home invasion in Adobe Ridge, and then a break-in/attempted Rape in Adobe Bluff about 4-5 houses from us. In the end we moved for multiple reason's like schools, bigger house, etc. I would move back to the area, just would have to be a nicer part of Grand Mission in the 70' area.
