On the east side? Well Eastwood is beginning transition. Don't think I could recommend any others. They're all pretty rough. May work for you depending on your tolerance for sketchiness, but I certainly wouldn't want to live in those areas.

Westbury is nice 10 to 12 miles from downtown but it is on the southwest side about 2 to 3 miles outside the loop I would recommend this neighborhood from homes $250k max

Closes to the loop you get the prices jump quite a bit south of 90 decent pockets but overall not that good if your signal and under 30

There are a few tiny houses in the Heights at that price. I have a friend who lives in Eastwood and I house sit for her all the time. It's not as bad as it looks when you drive through. But the houses there already appreciating. Little 3 bedroom/1 bath ones are up to about $200k. I think you should expect tax to go way up in the future
