Where did most of the people from Houston move too? There aren't many people from Houston here anymore and most are not from the city. Where are we?

I am here in old Katy (waves) but I plan on moving back into the city soon. I understand your point though...this is starting to remind me of high school in the late 70's and early 80's. People are moving in from everywhere because of the O & G business. It is rare that I come across a native Houstonian now.

They are still here but they are mixed in with the throngs of people moving here from everywhere else. And also those who have been campus recruited here from elsewhere. Most of the major o&g companies recruit for their employees seeking the best of the best, those who are graduating in the top 5-10% of their classes at the top universities.

I'm from Houston, but I moved to Virginia because my areas of expertise are more in demand here than there.

Interesting that Texas and Nova seem to be the current engines of American economic growth. I'd rather live in Texas over Virginia if I had my choice though.

Additionally, it seems like most of the people I graduated undergrad with have either migrated to the DC area or to Texas in the last few years. Gotta go where the money is.

More than plenty of us south of I-10,north of San Felipe, from downtown to almost Hwy 6. Also, a good number of "almost natives," who moved here in the 70's.

The Memorial areas house a good percentage of native to non- native. I grew up in Tanglewood, which is becoming very non-native and very diverse compared to 10 years ago.

Always lived in SW Houston, except for college and working in Midtown Manhattan. I'd like to move to one of the Fort Worth suburbs (Keller, Colleysville, Southlake, Westlake, Trophy Club, Flower Mound, Grapevine) or work overseas (save money) for a bit, but beside that I'd never move out of Houston.

Grew up west area. Well what was considered west back then (beltway and Briar Forest). Moved away for college and then back after graduation. Now live in the memorial area.
