There must be a demand for these in that area.
It's one of my favorite parts of town. But I'm not a big fan of high rises... a townhouse/brownstone style home would be preferable.

Personally, I would love to see a few aesthetically pleasing highrises pop up around Hermann Park. I feel the same about Allen Parkway.

Default Another 40+ story High Rise for Houston

Whether or not the Parklane is 'ugly' is a matter of opinion, not fact. The Parklane looks like the typical luxury high-rise in Midtown Manhattan or its UES (Upper East Side). At the end of the day, kudos to Houston, for yet another 40+ story tower for its skyline.
