We will be moving to Houston right after the 1st quarter of the school year. Just wanted to get some information regarding which school district is rated higher Cy-fair v/s Spring Branch? We are trying to compare Cypress High versus Memorial High school. Please advise promptly. Thanks.

Both are excellent. If you are worried about class rankings, go with Cypress. I am assuming you mean Cypress Woods. If that doesn't matter, I think Memorial gives a bit better education. Homes zoned to Memorial will be much pricier overall.

There are 8 high schools in the Cy-Fair district that has Cypress in it's name. Which school are you wanting to know about? They definitely vary from school to school in how they are rated. For instance, Cy-Fair High is a great school while Cy-Ridge not so much.

Default Cyfair ISD versus Spring Branch ISD

In Cyfair ISD we are looking into either Cy-Fair high or Cypress creek. For Spring Branch the only one we are looking into is Memorial High. Amongst above 3 which one is the best as far as state ranking goes? Thanks.

Just curious as to why you would rule out Stratford in SBISD?

Also, are you aware of the price differences and commute differences between these two choices?

Not trying to be critical, but its such a narrow question about two very different places.

And there's more to life than state rankings.

Memorial High School is ranked #233 in the nation and #32 in the state.
Cy-Fair High School is ranked # 1,616 in the nation and #145 in the state.
Cy-Creek High School is unranked.

And Stratford is 53rd in the state, number 500 in the country.

Granted housing prices zoned to Stratford will be double that of Cypress going by psf, and those houses zoned to Memorial, and located east of Gessner ,will be 3 times more psf,and then some.

It more boils down to what you can afford, the area you like best, where you feel socially comfortable, and where you work. At the end of the day,a public school education is just a public school education. Safety and Parental involvement are most important things in those schools, imho. Safer schools attract the better public educators, and more involved, middle class families.

If you can afford it, Memorial.
