Watch it be like 50 and sunny. With everyone chilling at home and the weather being typical Houston winter weather. Sunny and 50s-60.

It is 45 right should be 31 to 33 right now looks like it will be 38 to 40 at the lowest. It is truly possible it will not start getting cold till 10 to 11 am and ice will be about 12 to 2 pm

Lol. School canceled and places closed down for no reason now. I'll still gladly take the day off.

Very disappointing weather forecasts. Initial reports called for ice all over the Houston Metro area, with snow as for south as Houston and even a 'dusting' of snow for Galveston, 70% chance of precipitation. Now there's only 40% chance of rain/ice between 7:00am and Noon, with sunshine in the afternoon. Here in Galveston school was cancelled and my weekly work activity was rescheduled. We are no longer in a winter weather warning.

Great.

Now this time next year when we actually get some ice/snow people will remember faux Icepocalypse and still go out and to work and the issues will be doubled with "but last year you idiots hyped it up so we figured it wouldn't happen again"

Houston = the Weather Boy Who Cried Wolf

Conversation with my tearful 5 year old:

Son: Mommy, there's no snow anywhere.
Me: I know. I'll check the forecast.
Son: Why? They were wrong again.
Me: I know. It's not even raining and they canceled school.
Son: (suddenly grinning). Yeah. That's kind of funny. I guess those people need to go to school to predict weather better.

The map I am looking at shows the wintry mix of precipitation running along through Austin, Brenham, Spring, and Cleveland. Regular rain below that around north Houston, and scattered rain south of Houston.

So far, it's a bunch of nothing for most of Houston metro.

Single digit temps in north Texas - yuck.
