Skyscraperpage and Skyscrapercity are better sites for that.

Was looking to book a venue/bar for a birthday at State Bar for a Saturday. Looked at other bars in the area. Needless to say, I left depressed. That photo says it all. Hope downtown really gets turned around at a faster pace.

See thats the myth people spread. while Houston streets are not packed , I have been in plenty of bars that are wall to wall people.... Houstonsains are not stand around outside people

That photo is a pic of a street that is not even near any activity area.. It not in the market sqaure zone, or The tail end of Main, heck not even DG...

Sorry, Truth. Been to downtown plenty of times during the week and weekends. Outside of a few bars, not much really going on there. Yes, those bars can get packed. So with that said, while it's not as deserted as in the picture, it's also not that vibrant, bustling city atmosphere some try to make it out to be either.

Who tried to make it out to be ? I just said it not dad as peope lke to over dramazied.. There are pockets .. but people want to compare a downtown with 2,000-3000 people( I never use the city numbers since they bump it up using the prison population and ,homeless) to cities with 30,00-40,000.. Even if all the propused resdiental projects go thu DT will only be at about 7,000. That will help but Dtw ill still be a while off before the streets are packed like other DT

I'm pretty sure DT Houston will get there. Just taking too long. I enjoy the old architecture of the buildings. The ambience is there. Just not the energy yet.
