My agent has changed the insurance company and offering a contract with a "Tryton Insurance Group" instead of Farmers Insurance.
Based on my quick research, this is some kind of a middle man, that allows agents to earn more commissions by negotiating on their behalf with Insurance companies. Do I understand it right?

Anyway, how should I care if it is better for my agent? It does not seem to be a better/cheaper for me. And any future claims will have to go through a middle man too.

Share your thoughts. So far I do not see a reason to use them. I'd rather use a larger more prominent insurance business.

No experience with them. Wonder if similar to Geico using a different group afs? For home & flood insurance.

If something happened I would not be happy with a middleman.
