Does anyone know how long is the commute between Nottingham Country and Downtown? Considering some properties in the area and would like to know.

It will be between 30-40 minutes without traffic, depending on your work location. With traffic, maybe around 50-75 minutes. It really depends on when you leave your house and how close you are to the highways.

When we attend Rockets games downtown and drive back out to Katy (neighborhood next to Nottingham) it takes us 25 minutes. So with no traffic, 25-30 minutes to downtown. Traffic in the mornings will depend on what time you leave. Most of the jam will be before you get to BW8, then it will clear up to 610, and then jams again as you get closer to downtown. What were you expecting, 15 minute drives?

Use the map app during high traffic times to see. I just input a house on the upper edge of NC and the downtown aquarium which is on the north side, and it was 26 minutes at around 12:00. So that's about 30 minutes door to door.

There's always construction downtown, and it can take a while to get into parking garages.

Thanks, Meyerland. Will do.

oespinoza83: No, I was not expecting a 15 minute drive. So no need for the sarcasm. However, I was also not expecting a 50-75 minute drive. Thanks for the input, though.

I understand that, but unless you are new to Houston, anyone who lives in the suburbs and is "shocked" at a 50+ minute commute to downtown during peak hours is delusional.

The commute TO downtown in the mornings has been easier than the trip home. In the evenings, even riding the Metro Park & Ride, it's been averaging 1-1/2 hours from the time I leave the office til I get to my house (not Nottingham Country but the general area).

So, I'm delusional now. Oh oespinoza83, you are such a doll!! Just to clarify, I thought that commute could be somewhere between 45-50 minutes, given that is not as far out as Cinco (for instance). However, if that makes you think I'm delusional, so be it. There is no need to insult. Just don't waste your time "advising" delusional people. Jeez...

Sorry about that response kikiriki. Maybe it won't be that bad once you look up specific travel times.

People are often shocked by the commutes in Houston. The bad news is that every year lots of people move to Houston, and the commutes will only get longer. when I first moved here in 1997, traffic was much less.

Have you thought about areas closer to downtown? There are some nice homes that are still KATYISD that are close to highway 6 and I10. That would shave off some time, and there is a park and ride right there.

Several of my friends live in Kingwood and commute downtown, and I think Friendswood might be a good option too.
