Does community changes from one ISD to another

I am looking for house in Katy area, Houston . This community (Willow creek farms) currently falls under Katy ISD (Great school district) but is very close to the Royal ISD (Bad school district) so my question is that is it possible that a community can be changed from Katy ISD to Royal ISD? If yes, on what basis do they recategorize.

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Sirish.

I don't think you risk being changed from Katy ISD to Royal ISD -- being rezoned within Katy ISD is a possibility, but I've never heard of an area being rezoned to a completely different ISD. I can only imagine the uproar if people bought homes in Katy ISD only to be told they would later be changed to Royal ISD. Yikes.

I would not worry about being switched to a different district. That is extremely extremely rare.

Thank you so much for all your replies. I am very much worried because after I buy the house and if the ISD is changed, then I will have to send my kids to the worst rated schools.

We've been rezoned within a district, but I haven't heard of anyone being switched to a different school district. I think you're safe.

The only time an ISD is changed is when the state forces a district to absorb another. This will not happen in KATYISD.
