For fall color though? I don't think that's likely.

For what it's worth I think Houston has some decent fall color of its own in parts of town. The thing is that it doesn't show up until December and its largely hidden by all of the evergreen oaks and pines.

You're right. A place that once served as a sugar and cotton plantation is of course the premier destination for those looking to bask in the beauty of its trees.

I've got some trees up here on what used to be a part of the Katy Prairie you should see some time. They're about 5 feet tall and were planted by the developer.

It's crazy growing up in Houston. I never saw the beauty of Autumn until I moved to Pennsylvania. Having said that, in my mind, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing brown pine needles all over the yard and drive way. For whatever reason, that is perfect fall foliage in my book.
Crazy, I know. But hey, I'm 100% Houstonian!

I lived 12 years in the Ozarks
Fall foliage is pretty, I just didn't like the cold weather that came with it

That might be why I never cared for it,
when I saw it, it meant to me "Get ready for 6 months of cold weather"
