I just find it odd that people put so much value in seeing celebrities.

the club scene in Houston sucks to what was seen in the 60s, 70s and 80s when clubs were havens for concert artists, celebrities, etc.....everything is geared towards sportsbar now and if you want to rub elbows with celebrities now, you gonna pay

that's why folks loved the older Oilers, Astros, Rockets teams....those players hung out all over town and hung out with the common folks
But that is why it qualified here -- buzzy, NON PRETENTIOUS and fun. Clubs geared toward performing artists and celebrities tend to be exclusive and exclude miost people. We definitely aren't #8 on upscale and exclusive. But seems we did meet the criteria of this particular list. Odd as it may seem.

I meant celebrities in the older days were in all sports of clubs like regulars.....you listen to the older folks and yad guys like Muhammad Ali, etc. in and out every 3rd ward club with little fanfare....when did it change?

Hahaha....
On the list together with... Baku and Thessaloniki? I visited both, and I don't think so.
Only for those who think that the US is the center of the universe
Interesting that Houston is NOT mentioned on any of those lists:
World's best nightlife cities - CNN.com
Best Cities For Nightlife - Business Insider
Top 15 Cities with the Craziest Night Life in the World | Cities Journal
World’s best nightlife » Cities
Top 10 Cities For Nightlife in The World
etc...etc...

I took a look at your list elnina and found Miami listed on only one, as well as kuala lumpur . So every now and then you will have an outlier on these list for whatever reason. I think Houston should collectively just accept the notoriety as a compliment and move on .

I just think it's the criteria for this particular list. If it was best upscale nightlife - Houston wouldn't have been on it. To me this list was. More about fun and simple.

Just like those insincere Facebook posts where one posts what they consider a flattering picture of themselves, usually a selfie, and everyone knows it isn't so, but then will comment on 'how pretty', or 'you haven't changed one bit', 'beautiful as ever'. Yeah, right. So yes, accept and move on.
