Make sure to use 93 octane and not 87.

As long as they are eating the old wood, they are not eating your house. When we lived in the woods I had a concern about getting rid of fallen trees or large branches. The best termite guy we have ever used said just let the wood be.

Of course that can't be done on a 10,000 ft. city lot. It illustrates that termites are everywhere. They do need a route to the ground, though. They also do not have jointed bodies as much as ants do. Ants have easily seen jointed head, thorax and abdomen. Subterranean termites are kinds thick bodied compared to ants.

I do not know a thing about Formosa termites. Put a few of the bugs in an old jar and identify them You do not want Formosa termites in the neighborhood. Any constantly dampish wood around your place? My son had to tent his house in the Heights.

Geez, I had no idea we had Formosa termites here. All I've ever heard of in this area were subterranean.

Thank you for all the replies!
I'm not sure they are Formosa (googled pics), and also, they seem to be gone... I'm not sure if it's the rain or the half a can of Raid I sprayed inside, but they seem to have covered somewhere else.. It's comforting and alarming at the same time. Bin will be wrapped up and thrown away today, and I hope the bugs haven't migrated to a more important part of the property, like the house or the garage.

No, no dampish wood around the house, thank God. Thank you for mentioning it!
