I am anticipating a job offer in Sugar Land Texas but want to live in Kingwood. We were in Texas looking over cities and we liked and decided on Kingwood then this potential offering came along.

What is the morning and afternoon comute from Kingwood to Sugar Land and is the tollway 8 the best option.

Need advice please

The commute from Kingwood to Sugarland would be miserable (50+ miles) IMHO, probably the worst in the area. I live in Katy and commute downtown on a daily basis which I've gotten used to. I would never consider a Kingwood/Sugarland commute.

There are some very nice homes in the Sugarland area and I think you would probably like it just fine down there. Take a look at Houston Real Estate - Houston Homes, Houston Home Value and Houston Relocation and do a search on homes in the Sugarland area in your price range.

I think Sugarland is nicer than Kingwood personally.

Sugarland is more in the coastal prairie, trees are pretty much limited to areas around water ways....but you can always plant a few

Yeah, plant some. My family is out there and their neighbors have some big ol' peach and orange trees.

I agree -- I've lived here for 1 1/2 years and I wouldn't advise a Kingwood to Sugarland commute because the traffic on 59 is just so darn heavy. I live in Katy and take the Westpark Toll Rd. and try to avoid even getting on 59 S when I'm coming home weekdays from the museum district which is only a couple of times a month because it's just so congested. Save yourself a lot of headache (and wear and tear on your car) and live closer to your job.

I recently drove from Kingwood to Sugarland during morning rush hour and it took me aprox. 45 minutes, but my destination was on the highway feeder so add in time to get to your work location from the highway.

chris_ut -- but did you feel like it was a white knuckle drive?? and what about when the weather is bad (pouring rain) or there's an accident then the drive would be a lot longer and much more stressful when you know that you'll be late for work.
