It's so aggravating! I second getting a sturdy walking stick and or pepper spray for dogs off leashes, just for protection against the dog. You just never know.

I am the only person in the neighborhood who puts our dog on a leash.

We have been attacked twice by dogs owned by people who just opened their door and let their dogs out while we were in front of the house. Several others were also attacked. DH threatened to shoot the dogs if it happened again.

Sounds like my reaction, but it always sucks when the pet has to suffer because of their owner's reckless decisions.

My dog has serious back problems. Partly due to the attack by two much larger dogs while we were attempting to pick her up out of harms way. The dogs were after our dog, but we were also were scratched and bitten.

The attacking dog's owner just stood in his doorway and watched. Several other dogs that I know were also attacked by those dogs. I do not understand how an owner can be so unconcerned and uncaring.

My neighbor was walking her dogs and they went after a little dog in it's own yard. Her dogs drug her across the street while she was holding on to the leashes. That incident resulted in an injured little dog, an injured dog owner, insurance company involvement and an $8000 payment.

I find most pet owners to be more of problem then their pets behavior. If you mace someones pet be ready to mace the owner.

Geez, that stinks. Just curious what is the general neighborhood?

Wortham Grove.

We have a dog that came from a 300+ dogs in the house dog hoarder. She loves people, but is aggressive around big dogs. When we first took her in she went after a doberman at the groomers, all 12 pounds of her.

Little dogs are ok. We finally got her calmed down while walking when she was attacked. That was when we lived in Woods of Wimbledon 2. A guy in that neighborhood did go knocking on the door, rifle in hand because those dogs that got us, jumped his wife.

People are just nuts about their dogs. Theirs may be calm and obedient, but not all are.
