These are ridiculous statements. Maybe YOU should be more observant.

For example, the government employees at the CDC are working on ways to prevent Zika from coming to our country, and cure it when it does. They are the only ones standing between us and a full-blown health crisis (remember the Ebola scare?).

Or how about the Energy Dept people responsible for making sure our nuclear arsenal is properly secured. Ya' know, the dept Perry wanted to kill, and now he says "Oops, didn't realize how important it really is".

Want to make a trip overseas? Better make sure those State Dept people are being paid, or you won't get a passport. Or even more importantly, make sure Border Control is up and running, so them "bad hombres" don't get us. Or did you forget that the people who protect our country are guv employees too?

There are millions of government employees doing valuable work. I'm sure there are many who aren't, and some trimming could be a good thing. But blanket statements rarely offer any insight except into the simple minds of the speaker.

"Who knew how complicated health care could be?"

I should add, for background, I wasn't a government employee. I was a small business owner, who chafed under government regulations. But I understood many of them (certainly not all) were necessary in the long run. And I ran into my fair share of unhelpful civil servants. But I ran into more who would do anything to help the people they served.

Like most everything in life, it's not black or white.

WOAH WOAH!!! Slow your roll there buddy. This isn't the place for thoughtful, nuanced positions on issues. Go back to Demagoguery 101 por favor, before I find some bad hombres to put you in your place...

Yeah! I stand for everything Augiec believes in, in direct opposition. Black/white, up/down, corn/flour, whatever the issue, common ground is dead.

I tried to say this the other day but you are far more eloquent than me. However, as noted above, blanket statements and hyperbole are the skeletal and muscular system of this organism we call the internet forum.

Thanks for the rational and level-headedness though. I (and at least 2 other posters) appreciated it.

I just think is funny that so many people believed the Salesman that we have for President that he was going to keep any of his promises.

How's that wall going? Are they almost done?

Just goes to show how many conservatives really support our troops. After all, our men and women in uniform are just "government leeches" I suppose...

Dont forget that all credible estimates of that stupid idea show it will take longer than Trump could be president. At best he will get a couple of years before the Democrats take over congress and (rightfully) shut it the hell down.
