See if you can cut another deal with the company that the photog got paid for. I'm sure the current deal doesn't last forever. Just see if they want to use it again and tell them you will take less $ than what the photog was asking for.

Thanks for this timely post. Was just hiring a photographer and I amended the language to remove blanket model consent so they can no use the photos without our permission.

I don't think anyone expects their children's professional photos to be used in public. I can see where it crosses a line. Our HOA has photo contests and of all things it lists the children's names, ages, and parents names. It doesn't take much to find where they live - And then you run into that can of worms. What most don't know or haven't figured out. . . Those HOA magazines are displayed for the public in the library. Pick one up and browse. You can access various subdivisions and all their data in them. Anytime you put yourself and especially your kids out in social media you have to think twice.
