Any Recommendations on where to live? Will be working at the airport, IAH. Looking for 3/2 house under 2k a month. No kids. Pets, yes. We like restaurants, festivals, music, sports bars, dog friendly areas. Help would be appreciated.

Sorry to ask this. But most of North Houston is highly segregated by white, black, and Hispanic. Which of the three do you feel most comfortable with? It’s a sick world that we have to ask that question.

Well we are comfortable around all kinds of people. We are former military. We’ve lived in the city of Atlanta for the last couple of years. One thing I like about Atlanta, is that you can go pretty much go anywhere and see all types of people. We have friends who are Black, White, Hispanic, Indian, Pakistani, LGBTQ, you name it. Are there any areas in Houston like that? Mainly want a safe area. Thanks for replying.

Well Houston is significantly more diverse and racially integrated than Atlanta (I lived there too). There are plenty neighborhoods inside the loop where you see people of all races/ethnic backgrounds interacting and living together. You see this somewhat in Katy and most definitely in Sugar Land. I wouldn’t want to commute from either of those suburbs to the airport. The Woodlands is the nicest suburb closet to the airport; though, it is isolated from the city amenities and doesn’t offer nearly as much diversity as Sugar Land or Katy. I would live inside the loop, if your budget allows, and reverse commute to the airport using the hardy tollway.
