Oh wow, the Strip casino that Fertitta is rolling out will be a Post Oak Hotel not a Nugget.

Will the next Mandarin Oriental/Ritz Carlton elite level of hotels be named after a street in Houston?

If gambling was ever legalized in Texas, I wonder if he’d add a casino to the property.

if someone ever open a casino,it will get a lot of people to come and gamble or eat or just browse, there is really no one location in Houston like Chicago has Rush Street,San Fran has the Tenderloin district?
May be go to London.

A majority of people here don't want it, so drop the idea, or go where there is one, where you can spend and lose all your money.

Cities and state vary for good reasons, to offer choices. We don't necessarily want what others have. Don't Mess With Texas. LOL

Eastern portion of Downtown near the convention district would be viable. Some parts of the Post Oak too

Except a majority of Texans do want legalized gambling in almost every form--casinos, sports books, horse racing, etc. Do a google search, and dozens of non-biased polls (IOW, not paid for by Golden Nugget) show Texans favor gambling by a significant percentage. Just as most Texans are against Blue Laws in any form.

Yet we have no casinos, and can't buy a car on Sunday.

The Balinese Room. Illegal gambling that law enforcement turned a blind eye to. Operated by the Maceo family. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balinese_Room

Fertitta is related to the Maceos https://www.truehoop.com/p/fertitta-family-history?s=r

The entire Fertitta empire came from the Maceo wealth. Also the other billionaire Fertittas

Anyway if a casino were still I open in Texas it would go wherever Fertitta wants to put it.

people do like to gamble, altho most lose money.
But I can see why some cities do not want casinos as the poor would use their rent and grocery money to gamble, thats why they have casinos in the desert (las vegas)
but most folks just play the slot machines,
