You are the one that keeps on defending our inept Texas government by saying that 30-40 years ago it was controlled by democrats

That's the fact, I can't change the history.

Why is this still going on? We have a politics chat you know. If you didn’t agree many posts ago what makes you think you’ll change each others mind by now?

Bring on the casinos.

I don't gamble and don't care if you want to go there and p*ss away your own money. Makes no difference to me.

This is just not an issue to me, sorry....not a gambler.

That said, do not believe that if we did bring in casinos that this would solve any of our tax problems or lower any taxes. I do not see that happening, sorry.

A lot of longtime, traditional Texans have never wanted, and still don't want, casinos and gambling here. It's not a political matter with one stupid party vs. the other. It's viewpoint shared across the board. Sure, others feel differently, but they've never been able to swing things in the opposite direction on this matter.

I call it "freedom lovers" vs "Anti-freedom people"

If people want to throw their money away, let them do it

The Bible thumpers are why you do not have casinos in Texas. Ditto for dry counties and blue laws.

All those restrictions go back many decades and people from both parties were responsible.

From either side of the aisle...you will always have authoritarian types that want to restrict your freedoms. This will never change.

All of this. I don't gamble either but I see no reason why people shouldn't have the freedom to. There's all kinds of stupid stuff out there to spend money on, what difference does it make?
