My husband is finishing up is BS in Electrical Engineering. From what I've read so far each state has their own rules for when this exam can be taken and what the requirements are. How much experience is needed for TX before you can take the exam, can it be waived? We live in NV for now and the BOE here states that if you are a resident then you can qualify for an early exam. http://boe.state.nv.us/BOE%20Forms/PE%20Application/PE_Exam%20Only_BS%20degree.htm
I wasn't sure if TX had something similar or what exactly he would need. I know that he would have to take the FE / EI exam over agian in TX and the ethics exam is manditory for TX. I tried looking on the TX BOE website last night but it was late and thought I'd start here today.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

After your BS, you need 4 years of design experience that can be confirmed by a PE that he has been worked under. However before taking PE, you must pass the FE (EIT) which is the first part and which I am taking on friday. My recommendation is that since he is still in school that he go ahead and sign up for the FE as soon as possible. Well good luck, actually good luck to me as well since i will be taking the FE this saturday, last time i got a 69, damn.

I think its 5 years working under a PE. You need to pass the EIT first. The paperwork is the hard part.
